The XTRA Option at the NEUTRA Facility—More Than 10 Years of Bi-Modal Neutron and X-ray Imaging at PSI

Just after the start into new millennium concept for combined neutron and X-ray imaging was introduced by extending standard configuration of thermal NEUTRA instrument with a complementary 320 kV tube setup. Using essentially same detector both enables pixel-wise (in radiography) voxel-wise tomography) correlation combination attenuation data. The optimal use analyses such data sets depend on specific investigation research question range from combinatory interpretation separately analyzed images to full fusion approaches. Here, several examples more than decade bimodal at PSI shall be reviewed.
